The DirtSaw Deuce #3, weighing in at just 27g (less than 2 tablespoons of water), is a robust, full-sized trowel designed for users who frequently tackle tough ground conditions. Crafted from thicker material, the #3 is twice as strong as our #2 model and provides enhanced comfort in your hand, measuring 2.7″ wide and 7.7″ long.
You’ll find that using the Deuce® upside down is essential about a third of the time. Start with the handle down to probe the top 3” for rocks or roots that could obstruct your hole—this probing feature can save you a significant amount of time. Then, flip it over to saw the outline of the hole (the inspiration behind the DirtSaw® on the opposite end). As you dig deeper, use it similarly to break up compact soil and pry out stubborn rocks. The Deuce® allows for a dynamic workflow while creating your poop hole, enabling you to saw, pry, and scoop your way to a precise 6” to 8” depth.
Two deep notches on the front edge protect recessed teeth that can be sharpened (even with a nail file) to slice through tenacious roots. These teeth are shielded to maintain their sharpness and are positioned far enough from the front edge to keep your hands safe while using the Deuce® upside down.
